Before I fell in love with portraiture, I took a black and white portrait course at Grant MacEwan, This was launched me into loving and exploring this field of photography. It really is all about connection, and then using light, backgrounds and a bit of editing. I love turning certain images into black and white and then using the sliders on the lightroom program to enhance and contrast between whites and blacks. Sometimes I am tempted to underexpose the image and show a very light almost eerie image. The effects can also show a more ethereal look. The main thing is to use the black and white scale to get the look I want.
